What to Expect on the Day of Your Clearance
Booking a house clearance can feel overwhelming, so we keep everything simple, clear and stress-free. Here’s exactly what happens from start to finish.
1. Arrival & Walk-Through
We arrive at the agreed time, introduce ourselves, and do a quick walk-through with you (If you are attending the clearance)
You show us what needs clearing, and we confirm any special instructions. (this can all be done remotely Via video or written instructions)
2. Sorting & Organising
We start by sorting items into:
Reusable items (passed to Pass It On Rotherham CIC)
Recyclables
Waste
Personal/sentimental items (kept safely aside)
Everything is handled with care and respect.
3. Removal & Loading
We load items into the van efficiently and safely.
We handle all lifting, carrying and logistics — you don’t need to help with anything.
4. Responsible Disposal
Once the property is cleared, we take waste to a licensed site — never dumped, never burned.
We are a registered waste carrier: CBDU577314.
Reusable items are taken to Pass It On Rotherham CIC to support local families.
5. Tidying Up
We leave the cleared rooms tidy and swept through so the space is ready for whatever comes next.
6. Payment
Payment is due on the day of clearance unless otherwise agreed.
Bank transfer, cash, and online payment are all accepted.
7. Aftercare
If we find personal documents, photos or sentimental items, we always keep them safe for you to collect.
If you need additional help after the clearance, just ask — we’re happy to advise.
A Smooth, Stress-Free Process
We do the heavy work so you don’t have to.
Clear communication, respectful handling, and an ethical approach — that’s what Vernons House Clearance is all about.
